An interactive applet and associated web page that demonstrate the three types of triangle: acute, obtuse and right. The applet shows a triangle that is initially acute (all angles less then 90 degrees) which the user can reshape by dragging any vertex. There is a message changes in real time while the triangle is being dragged that tells if the triangle is an acute, right or obtuse triangle and gives the reason why. By experimenting with the triangle student can develop an intuitive sense of the difference between these three classes of triangle. Applet can be enlarged to full screen size for use with a classroom projector. This resource is a component of the Math Open Reference Interactive Geometry textbook project at http://www.mathopenref.com.

This collection of STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) interactive resources is a practical guide that teachers will find useful in helping students achieve curriculum expectations in STEM related courses, build their understanding of science and their ability to engage in science talk, offer explanations about natural phenomena, and develop digital literacy and a sense of global citizenship. The guide also provides instructional design considerations for developing active learning activities, pedagogical strategies, and sample activities.

This course covers the major topics of mechanics, including momentum and energy conservation, kinematics, NewtonŰŞs laws and equilibrium. The major emphasis is to develop critical analysis, problem solving and scientific reasoning skills by considering numerous different systems and interactions, solving problems and discussion. It uses a systematic approach based on modeling systems by application of basic physics principles, making assumptions, utilizing multiple representations (not just mathematical) in order to become proficient at problem solving. Lab work is required and is designed to help students develop a questioning approach to physical situations, distinguishing the significant behaviors from the less significant behaviors of a system under study.Login: guest_oclPassword: ocl

The lectures introduce a number of topics that are important for IWRM and the modeling exercise. The lectures introduce water management issues in the Netherlands, Rhine Basin, and Volta Basin. The role-play is meant to experience some of the social processes that, together with technical knowledge, determine water management.

Introduction to seismic theory, measurements and processing of seismic data to final focussed image for geological and/or physical interpretation. This course deals with the most important aspects of reflection seismics. Theory of seismic waves, aspects of data acquisition (seismic sources, receivers and recorders), and of data processing (CMP processing, velocity analysis, stacking, migration) will be dealt with. The course will be supplemented by a practical of 6 afternoons where the students will see the most important data-processing steps via exercises (in Matlab).

A dynamically simplified solar system is constructed from online data to explore the real solar system on many different scales.
The realistically scaled solar system is surprising because nothing is visible due to the presence of many different scales. That is why it is usually rescaled in animations or illustrations. This is nice but gives us a wrong sense of distances and sizes. This Demonstration is intended to show the solar system's different scales in their full glory.
Since it is hardly possible to see anything when the real scales are used, controls have been added to modify the sizes of the celestial bodies.

Polytechnic University of Valencia has established an Action Plan, Teaching Network (Docencia en red), which aims to promote the use of ICT in teaching, supporting the teacher in all processes related to innovative actions and providing both resources and services support to facilitate the use of these technologies in teaching. This plan is structured through annual calls for proposals (2018-2019 Call) .
The purpose of this call is to encourage teachers at the Universitat Politècnica de València to produce during the academic year 2018-2019 ("and in all previous calls") educational materials destined to enhance the repository of digital learning objects RiuNet, to stimulate the use of learning modules in UPV subjects, to enrich the collection of freely accessible materials.
All materials elaborated have to meet the criteria set out in the guidelines for the creation of learning materials (http://www.upv.es/contenidos/DOCENRED/infoweb/docenred/info/710371normalc.html).
In order to guarantee the quality of the materials presented to the plan, the UPV centres, through the Learning Object Groups, will value the materials produced, with quality indicators. The approval of the objects for publication will be carried out by the Commission of the Network Teaching Plan.
All OER are accessible through the institutional repository Riunet, through OAI-PMH they can be harvested by other information resources (e.g. BASE, etc.). They are described with Dublin Core and DC.LOM metadata.

This is an updated version of SEHRA. Version 4_2 allows users to add new patients to create their own scenarios. SEHRA (Sunshine EHR Academic), is an educational simulation of an electronic health records system using Access 2019 as the development platform. Piloted in December of 2019, SEHRA was successfully implemented in January of 2020, and became an essential part of SUNY Broome’s ability to take health science classes and clinicals online in March of 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. SEHRA continues to grow and is currently used in on-campus laboratories, remote courses, and for professional practice experience. As an ODC-ODbL, the Open Database License through Cornell’s Open Data Commons group, the database will stay free of charge and accessible to students and other developers through SUNY OER. Questions about SEHRA can be addressed to Sandra K. Wright, Professor Business Information Technology at SUNY Broome Community College, Binghamton, NY, wrightsk@sunybroome.edu.

In order to promote students’ conceptual understanding and learning experience in introductory statistics, a technology task, which focuses on the probability distribution in which means are defined, was created using TinkerPlots, an exploratory data analysis and modeling software. The targeted audiences range from senior high school grade levels to college freshmen who are starting their introductory course in statistics. Students will be guided to explore and discover the movement behaviors of means of a set of numbers randomly generated from a fixed range of values characterized by a predetermined probability distribution. The cognitive, mathematical, technological and pedagogical natures of the task, as well as its association with the statistics education framework based on the Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Statistics Education (GAISE) by the American Statistical Association, will be elaborated. A brief discussion on what cognitive design principles this task satisfies will also be provided at the end.

The focus of this lab is on heritable diseases of the heart. You are cast here as a virtual intern to accompany a doctor examining three different patients. Each patient is examined, using more than one diagnostic tool, and at each stage, the doctor will invite you to examine the patient yourself and ask for your opinion.

Components of the immune system called antibodies are found in the liquid portion of blood and help protect the body from harm. Antibodies can also be used outside the body in a laboratory-based assay to help diagnose disease caused by malfunctions of the immune system or by infections. This virtual laboratory will demonstrate how such a test, termed an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), is carried out and show some of the key experimental problems that may be encountered.
